Studio Rental Available
Resident Artist Space
Looking for one Resident Ceramic Artist, beginning June 1, 2026. Applications are due April 27, 2026.
-
The resident artist space is Studio #6, a single 90 square foot private studio with 8 foot high walls and open above, on the second floor down a short hallway. Rental includes 24-hour access, access to electric and gas kilns, and use of other studio and classroom equipment such as a slab roller, extruders and spray booth. Resident Artists are responsible for providing and maintaining their own shelving, tables and other equipment including pottery wheels. No kilns may be installed in studios. Monthly rent is $345.00.
-
Rent does not include clay materials, glazes or firings, but clay, glazes and firings may be purchased through Mudflat and are additional fees. Resident artists are required to fire their own work; a training and authorization process for firing Mudflat kilns can be arranged with the Mudflat tech director.
-
Mudflat is a non-profit community clay studio and all studio artists are required to participate in Mudflat sponsored events and fundraising activities, including Mudflat’s Open Studio and Pottery Sale, held in May and December each year. Paid teaching opportunities are available.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee. Review criteria will include applicant’s level of professionalism and quality of clay work, ability to work independently, and enthusiasm for participation in a community ceramic studio. Studio artists are not required to teach at Mudflat, but interest and ability in this area is a plus.
To apply, please fill out our online application and include 5 images of your work.
