Making Better Handles

In this workshop, participants will learn through observation, discussion, and practice as we work towards making better handles. We will engage with a wide range of example mugs to discuss the components that affect the look and function of a quality handle. Demonstrations will cover techniques for making pulled and slabbuilt handles, as well as tips for timing, making, and attaching. Participants should prepare their own premade-leatherhard cups in advance; then we will move through the making and attaching process with instructor guidance, finding a handle that best compliments each specific form.
