Kintsugi

Experience the art and philosophy of Kintsugi repair through both traditional urushi and modern techniques. This 3-hour workshop offers an introduction to both the traditional and simplified methods of ceramic repair. Participants will have the rare opportunity to experience working with genuine urushi (natural lacquer) and also learn a modern simplified method suitable for beginners. The simplified process allows participants to complete a repair within one session and is easy to handle even for first-time learners. However, please note that the simplified version is not food-safe and should be used for decorative purposes only. Participants are welcome to bring their own simple broken pieces to repair, provided that the pieces are approved by the instructor in advance.

Please note: The workshop uses natural urushi lacquer, which can cause allergic skin reactions in some individuals. All participants will be required to read and sign a Waiver Form prior to the workshop.
