CERAMIC TECHNICAL ASSISTANT

This part-time entry-level position is 20-24 hours per week. It requires working 3
days each week, 7-8 hours each day, with a regular weekly schedule, to be
determined between the staff and the new hire.

Responsibilities include a mix of:

• mixing slips and glazes, both lowfire and highfire

• loading and unloading electric and gas kilns

• firing electric and gas kilns

• clay recycling

• assist with clay deliveries

• assist with technical training

• assist with studio cleaning and maintenance

Qualifications: BFA in Ceramics or comparable experience with emphasis on
technical skills, strong organizational and communication skills, ability to work
independently and on a team, and willingness to keep Mudflat running smoothly.
Physical Requirements: The position involves physical activities including lifting
up to 50 lbs., bending, and standing for extended periods. The ability to safely
handle and manage fragile ceramic materials is essential.

Compensation: $20.00 per hour, with paid holidays, and vacation and personal
paid time off.
