Exploring Your Creative Process

How do you approach clay? Do you dive in and start making, or do you carefully analyze and plan? Maybe you begin by sketching and completely abandon your plans once your hands get into the clay. Do you have too many ideas and feel overwhelmed by the choices? Do you have trouble deciding what to make? There are many different ways of approaching the process of creation.  This intensive two-day workshop with Debra Fleury will use participatory, collaborative, and individual explorative exercises to help you make discoveries about your unique approach to process and hone your personal expression in your clay work.

Fleury Sketch Debra Fleury is the current Artist in Residence at Mudflat. She graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art in 1998, where she completed a two-year degree project exploring and documenting the creative process of students and professional artists. Her work is featured in the 2009 Nellie Allen juried show in North Carolina and the Craftforms 2009 juried show in Wayne Pennsylvania.
